A New Calendar – Flowers of Argoed

As you’ll have noticed from a post a few weeks ago we’re embarking on a new calendar for Caerphilly County Council this year and it all starts this Sunday, 1st April.

We’ll meet at Markham school at 10.00am and I’ll kick the project off with a presentation on photographing flowers. As with last years calendar we want it to be noticed and we’re only going to do that with some really fine images. Again Sleep Visual will be doing the design and all images will need to be with me by the end of September.

It would be great to see as many as possible on the walk and if you’re interested then you can book with James Bower on 07836 217110 or at bowerj@caerphilly.gov.uk. After Sunday I’ll post the presentation on the blog so you can get a feel for the type of images we’re looking for and how to achieve them.

Just as a taster I’ve posted a few images that will form part of the talk on Sunday, they were all taken in the garden yesterday and I’ll be explaining some of the techniques behind them during the presentation. These are all close ups but we’ll be looking at how to tackle the photography of wild flowers from many viewpoints. Look forward to seeing you over the weekend!
